Description
The children of Israel have become slaves in Egypt. From daylight to dark Hebrew men and boys were driven from their homes and forced to work under Pharaoh’s whip cracking slave drivers. At that time God raised up their deliverer in Moses, who was born in captivity, hidden in the bulrushes, and by God’s miracle raised in Pharaoh’s palace and called by God to lead His people out of Egypt.
Moses supported by his brother Aron, went to Pharaoh and demanded that he let the children of Israel go free. Pharaoh at first refused but finally after God had inflicted ten plagues on the Egyptians he allowed them to go. You will find this dramatic story in our first book Out of the Bulrushes.
For many years Moses led his people through the dry, desert. They did not hunger – for God gave them sweet manna from heaven; they did not thirst – for God gave them sweet water to drink. Yet they still complained and even defined the commandments Moses had given them from God. Yet Moses prayed for them and God forgave His people and gave them instructions how to build the Tabernacle to Worship Him in.
