Description

The Israelites, after their deliverance from slavery in Egypt were journeying in the wilderness, having experienced the eventful crossing of the Red Sea. They were protected and provided for day by day by their heavenly Father. The falling of dew very early in the morning before sunrise was a regular and essential feature in those days. In the desert regions they covered, where there was scarcity of rain, the dew that wetted the ground not only helped them raise crops and maintain the grape vines but also caused the pastures to remain in green flourish for their flocks. Hence, the dew that fell was called “the dew of heaven” .
