In these days of moral degradation where families and even the very family concept has been under attack, it is essential to help strengthen the whole families, as a whole and individually, to grow spiritually. It calls for different approaches as one grows up, mentally as well as spiritually. The taste of reading also changes according to the age of the reader. From the picture books that a pre-school child loves to the serious issues of life and schools of philosophical thought that young adults and older people pursue, people change their preferences of subject matter as well as literary styles. Though it has often been said that book reading habit is decreasing among children, this contention is against the research findings. The responsibility of developing reading habit rests with the parents. The children have to be provided with books from an early age. In the olden days the grandmas were supposed to be the story tellers. But with the development of urban nuclear families, the parents have to take on that role as well. Children to whom the parents read stories from an early age, tend to develop reading habit. While GLS has produced books in some of these areas, it is our endeavour to bring out books for all age groups.
