Weekend Thoughts

The Presence of the Living God. Fear ye not me?  saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence? Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.Cain went out from the presence of the LORD. Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.

Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Thou wilt shew me the path of life. I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. — Our Saviour Jesus Christ … hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

The way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. — He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. The veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. The way into the holiest of Holy is opened for us to have access into the awesome presence of the true living God.  new and living way…Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

And he was afraid, and said, how dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

And Jacob rose up early in the morning…. by faith Jacob worshiped the Lord. The times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us come together as an assembly to offer unto Him spiritual sacrifice on the ground of His sacrifice which He offered once for all on Calvary ‘s  Mercy Seat. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. In thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Amen.

Every blessing for the weekend.

What is bitterness?

Bitterness is a spirit that disturbs many believers besides being a sin. Bitterness is a mixture of disappointment, anger, and fear. Remember, anger graduates to bitterness if you don’t deal with it accordingly. By forgiving and letting go

In fact, Ephesians 4:26 states that, “In your anger do not sin.” “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” As believers, we must bear in mind that anger has a timeline; your anger shouldn’t exceed 12 hours.

Furthermore, bitterness makes you bitter instead of better and eventually leads to unforgiveness. What most of us are unaware of is that bitterness blocks the breakthrough to our destiny. Before you allow bitterness to control you, here’s what you need to keep in mind.

  • Bitterness is sin
  • When you deliberately fail to talk to someone you have no part in God’s kingdom
  • Bitterness is unforgiveness fermented
  • The more you hold on to past hurts, the more you become “drunk” on your pain
  • The devil uses anger to attack many
  • God can’t draw near a bitter person
  • To overcome bitterness, you must: forgive, stop dwelling there, and stop retelling
  • Bitterness blocks your physical and spiritual life; you’ll stagnate physically and spiritually. It’s no wonder many are worsening spiritually and physically
  • When you’re bitter, you can’t have breakthrough even in prayer
  • Bitterness creates space for the enemy
  • Bitterness is satan’s altar in your life-an altar is a point of contact. Therefore, when you’re about to rise financially, the enemy stands against you
  • This sin entangles easily similar to sins like lies and gossip
  • When you allow bitterness to take root in your life, you won’t succeed at any time because you’re limited
  • Bitterness is what’s “eating” many up
  • Bitterness holds you back
  • It’s like an acid that destroys its container; whatever you try fails
  • A bitter person holds grudges

The Results of Bitterness

No peace

  1. Discouragement
  2. It causes anger
  3. Its causes hatred
  4. It makes you spiritually cold
  5. You want to see others suffer
  6. You engage in ungodly things
  7. Bitterness damages friendships; families
  8. It hinders your relationship with God
  9. It opens the door to the enemy so he can afflict you
  10. It can cause physical and mental illness
  11. It makes you go against God’s Word
  12. You fall short of God’s glory
  13. Before God you’re unholy when you’re bitter; before men, you lack peace

Have you allowed bitterness to dominate your life? Learn to forgive. Live holy!

Heb 12:14-15 bitter person is unholy and defile others….

God bless you

When God is silent

It is easy to trust God when the bush is burning, the waters are parting and the mountains are shaking – it’s those silent years that are discouraging. But blessed is the person who does not interpret the silence of God as the indifference of God! It’s in the desert and not in the palace that God finds out the depths of our yieldedness. It’s when He’s silent, not when He speaks, that our faith is precious in His sight.

Our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep.

The chief Shepherd.  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth.

 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. — I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick.  Ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Have a blessed weekend with every blessing.

When ye come together, do this in remembrance of me. Let us remember Him in His suffering and glory.

It pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief. God the Father handed over him unto death. The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. — Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:

We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine will, but the will of him that sent me. The cup which my father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

The Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.  My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, — Mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Have a blessed Lord ‘s day with every blessing from above.

Few words of consolation. Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither is his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. — While I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help, leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. Be not thou far from me, O LORD, O my strength, haste thee to help me. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.  Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us. The Lord is good and stronghold in the day of thy trouble. Call unto me in the day of thy trouble. I shall deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me.

This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

Every blessing for the weekend.

JM in the Lord’s work.

The Lord’s day, the day of breaking of bread, the first day of the week, the day of resurrection, the day of  our remembrance of the Lord, fellowship with the Lord and with one another.

The Lord Jesus Christ, before His ascension sanctioned His people with two ordinances. They are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The first instituted in the wilderness, linking us to newness of life on earth and the second, instituted in the upper room, connecting us with Christ in glory. The first takes us backward to see what the Lord has done for us and the second takes to the Person of Christ in His suffering and in glory and His coming.

These ordinances are given to the church, but certainly not to any organisation. It was practiced by the early church, recorded in Acts of the Apostles and it is written in the epistle. Apostle Paul, writing to the Church at Corinth 1Cori.11:2 says, keep the ordinances. Apostle was not present when the Lord instituted the Lord’s Supper. But, we have him, receiving the account and the significance of the Lord’s Supper directly from the Lord. So he writes in the same chapter from verse:23 onwards….For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you……. In this portion we have three great truths. 1. What the Lord did? 2. What we do? 3. It’s duration is until the Lord come.

Meeting in the Saviour’s Name,

Breaking bread by His command,

To the world we thus proclaim,

On what ground we hope to stand,

When the Lord shall come with clouds,

Joined by heaven’s exulting crowds.

From the Cross our hope we draw.

‘Tis the sinner’s sure resource;

Jesus magnified the law, Jesus bore its awful curse; what a joyful truth is this!

O how full of hope it is! Jesus died, and then arose; Yes, He rose, He lives to reign;

He will vanquish all His foes.

When to earth He comes again;

His the triumph and the crown,

His glory and renown. Sing we, then, of Him who died,

Sing of Him who rose again;

By His blood we’re justified, and with Him we hope to reign:

Yes, we look to see our Lord, and to share His bright reward.

Have a blessed Lord ’s Day with every blessing.
