All Indians are our brothers and sisters. They are flesh of our flesh and blood of our blood. They need Christ. If they die without hearing the gospel we will be held accountable for their blood. One way to fulfil this obligation is by going to the field as missionaries and the other is by standing with those who are involved in the spread of the gospel directly or indirectly.

India with a popuplation of over one thousand two hundred million (120 crores according to 2010 census) registers over 70% literacy. Personal oral communication is still a very effective way of presenting the gospel in the country. But, transient oral communication has to be reinforced with literature which can make a long lasting impact on the whole nation. The internet revolution may be reaching the cities and big towns. But the countrywide statistics show that the demand for good literature in English as well as other regional languages is increasing.
Though English medium schools are mushrooming everywhere, especially in the urban and semi-urban centres, the Mother tongues are the preferred medium for the majority of the people. Not only that, the books produced should be culturally integrated with the social realities of the place. The Gospel and biblical truths have to be presented in a medium that is understood by the people. This calls for more Indian Christians writing books on various topics and the locally appreciated literary idom.
Keeping this in view, GLS has initiated major expansion programmes in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Odiya, Bengali and Assamese in addition to English and Malayalam books we have been producing and distributing.
